The other night you and your best friend were at the gym. The two of you ran for a half an hour on the elliptical runners, spend another half hour in the weight room doing shoulders and back, then you walked into the empty yoga room to stretch and cool down from your evening’s exercise routine. While in this room surrounded by mirrors, you noticed that the tops of your thighs still had that tell-tale orange peel look. Tragically, you were not the only observer of your embarrassment. Some gorgeous, cellulite-free, cute guy had to point it out to you:
“Hey, did you know there are exercises to get rid of cellulite that you should probably be doing?”
You were mortified but curious, so you ask, “what are these exercises to get rid of cellulite and how can I incorporate them into my routine?”
Exercises to get rid of Cellulite
One of the most effective ways to eliminate the fatty tissue responsible for cellulite on your thighs is to add lunges to your exercise routine. What is important to note about this, is that your form must be accurate to avoid injury. When performing a lunge, always remain in control and never allow your knee to extend past your toe. Also, you will want to keep your thigh at a ninety degree angle.
Another incredibly effective exercise to get rid of cellulite in the thigh area is the squat. Again, it is very important to perform this exercise correctly to avoid potential injury. As seen with lunges, a ninety degree angle in the thighs and never extending the knees beyond the toes are vital. Additionally, it is helpful when performing this exercise to contract the muscles of the abdomen to protect the lower back area.
These two exercises are extremely effective ways to help eliminate the fatty tissue that is responsible for the dimples that all women hate. However, it is also important to work the inner thighs as well. This can be done by simply sitting in a chair and placing a pillow between your knees and squeezing in one to two minute increments. As you squeeze the pillow between your thighs, the muscles of your inner thighs will contract, which is an effective exercise to get rid of cellulite in this area.
There are a number of exercises to get rid of cellulite in the thigh area, but lunges, squats and thigh contractions are three of the most effective. By combining these with a good diet and possibly an anti-cellulite cream, you can again stand in that yoga room without having to be embarrassed, or listen to “Mister Obvious” point out the one thing you would love to be without—cellulite.

Exercising is something that many people dread worse than a visit to the dentist, yet without this vital part of our lives, our physiques will become flabby and out of shape, not too mention extremely unhealthy. A daily regimen of exercise is a great way to boost one’s energy level, decrease stress and anxiety, and also get rid of unwanted body fat.
This body fat, especially in women, tends to come in the form of cellulite on the back of the thighs, hips and buttocks area. Specific cellulite exercises can be performed within your daily workout routine in order to help you eliminate this, but one must be diligent with a healthy daily dose of exercise including cardio, strength training and stretching. Remember, there are no overnight, quick fixes to losing weight and cellulite, it is a lifestyle.
Basic Exercises For Reducing Cellulite
First of all, cellulite-busting supplements and lotions that are currently on the market today tend to be a superior waste of money for most people. Any pill that promises a quick fix for this problem is misleading. Proper nutrition and cellulite exercise are the only weapons against your worst enemy! Making small changes in diet and exercise routines will go a long way in shaping and toning your body into what you would like to see, but it takes work and determination. With these two motivators, results from your cellulite exercise will be seen!
One cellulite exercise that will help this problem is performed while lying on your side. Place both knees bent in front of you at a 90 degree angle, then straighten your top leg and lift it up about three feet above the ground and slowly bring it back down. This should be done at least 10 times on each side. Next, place both legs out straight on top of each other and tilt your hips forward slightly while raising the top leg for 10 reps. Turn to the opposite side for another 10.
The next set of exercises is done while you are on your elbows and knees. Take your leg and extend it up toward the ceiling straight and back down then switch to the opposite leg. Repeat the movement 10 times each. Next, lift the knee and extend your heel toward the ceiling, keeping the knee bent. Press each leg up 10 times. These basic cellulite exercises, along with a nutritious diet and other cardio and weight training exercises, will help you be well on your way to the figure you’ve always dreamed of having. Now, get moving and exercise your cellulite away for good!
